Karachi:As part of its efforts to have direct control over international stadiums in the country, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has hammered out an agreement with the trust looking after the Multan Cricket Stadium who complied to hand them over the stadium on a 30-year lease.

A Pakistan daily-The News carried a report saying that the meeting between PCB officials and trust members was a fruitful one, which led to a positive development being worked out.

"We've held a very good meeting with the trust members including its Chairman DCO Iftikhar Babar and they've agreed in principle to hand over the stadium to the Board on a 30-year lease which is extendable after that period for another 30 years," PCB Director Board Operations Abbas Zaidi was quoted as saying in The News.

Besides the Multan stadium, the Pakistan cricket board is working out ways to reach an understanding with the caretakers of the Rawalpindi, Faisalabad stadiums so as to exercise direct control of these stadiums.
