London:Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who underwent surgery on his troubled left elbow, will miss the June 14 match between MCC side and International XI at Lord's to raise funds for the victims of the Boxing Day tsunami.

Tendulkar, who was to have captained the MCC side, will be replaced by fellow countryman VVS Laxman.

Tendulkar is expected to take about sixteen weeks to fully recuperate. New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming would don the mantle of captaincy of the MCC side in absence of Tendulkar.
