Bangladesh Test discard Kapali excels

Dhaka:Bangladesh Test discard Alok Kapali served a reminder to the BCB selectors with a flamboyant 86 but it went in van as his side BCB Red lost their three-day trail game to BCB Green by two wickets after two sporting declarations on the final day at the BKSP here.

Kapali, who is leading the BCB Red after being out in the international wilderness for quite some time now, clubbed six boundaries and five towering sixes to hit 86 from only 42balls and was well supported by Golam Rahman, who made 63 as the Reds posted 185-5 in just 30 overs.

BCB Green declared their first innings on overnight score of 275-5, 53 runs behind the Reds' first essay, and then the Reds declared their second innings on 185-5 to set a 239-run winning target for their opponents.

Nazimuddin top-scored with 53 from 83 deliveries while Sakib Al Hasan chipped in with 35 from 36 balls.

Number ten Abdur Razzak Raj blasted a quickfire 32-ball 45 to see the Greens through.
