Sydney:Former Australian One-day International player Ian Harvey, who currently plays for Yorkshire County in England has signed a deal with Victoria for 2005-06 thereby ending speculation over his reported move to play first-class cricket in South Africa for Western Province Boland during the English winter.

The 33-year-old One-day specialist who had asked for a two-year contract from Victoria, was reportedly upset with his state side who offered him only a 12-month contract at a reduced rate following which he delayed signing the contract.

"I am looking forward to a successful season with the Bushrangers," said Harvey as he sounded optimistitic over his stint with Victoria.

Victorian coach Greg Shipperd was also pleased to retain Harvey. "Harvey offers the Bushrangers an enormous amount of experience," he said.
