Dhoni, who has been recruited by the club for the tournament, plundered 20 boundaries and ten sixes during his knock as Shyambazar posted a massive 369 for five in 50 overs against George Telegraph on winning the toss.
In reply, George could only manage 166 for nine in 50 overs, to lose by 203 runs in the match at the Eden Gardens.
Dhoni later said that this was the second double-hundred in his career.
"I had earlier scored 215 not out in a school cricket tournament final in 1996. I was only 16 years old then."
Pleased with his performance, the Ranchi-based wicketkeeper-batsman said "I have played at Eden on several occasions earlier. But this is my best showing on this ground."
