Karachi:Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) secretary Syed Sirajul Islam Bukhari has said that the ECB should not make an isolated incident of last month as an smokescreen for their unwillingness to play a Test match in Karachi during their England's upcoming Test tour of Pakistan later this year.

The Pakistan daily-The News carried a report which said that Bukhari was happy to see that the political leadership of Karachi was throwing its weight behind KCCA in exhorting PCB to convince ECB to play a Test in the port city.

"I am glad that the political leadership of Karachi through its Information Advisor in the Sindh Cabinet Salahuddin Haider has come out openly to urge the Pakistan Cricket Board to plead before its English counterpart the case of Karachi for staging a Test match here," he was quoted as saying in -The News.

"I strongly feel that Shaharyar M Khan Chairman PCB should forcefully convince ECB officials to hold a Test match in Karachi otherwise it will carry a wrong message abroad that things are not well in Karachi."

"This will also negate the stand taken by President General Pervaiz Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz that Karachi is the ideal center for investment as the law and order situation in Karachi is normal," Bukhari added.

It may be mentioined here that Karachi is the biggest city of Pakistan with a population of over 15 million.
