Harare:Zimbabwe Cricket cracked the whip on batsman Brendan Taylor, handing him a nine-month ban for act of indiscipline during the recently home series between 'A' teams of Zimbabwe and Pakistan.

The right-handed Taylor twice skipped training ahead of Zimbabwe A's ODI matches against Pakistan 'A' last month without apprising coach Kevin Curran, a former Zimbabwe international.

This means that 19-year-old Taylor will miss two home Test series against India and New Zealand in August and September and Zimbabwe's away tour to New Zealand in January next year.

Taylor, who has appeared in 6 Tests and 25 One-day Internationals, however, would be allowed to play club and provincial level cricket.

The suspension runs from June 1 to February 28 next year.
