New Zealand all-rounder Cairns honoured

Wellington:Veteran New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns has become an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to the game.

Son of illustrious former Kiwi all-rounder Lance Cairns, the dashing cricketer has retired from Test cricket but has continued playing in One-day Internationals.

Dogged by injuries for most part of his career, Cairns has figured in 62 Tests and 204 ODIs for Black Caps.
