The lanky paceman was quoted as saying in a leading daily Times of India that he would love to play for the country.
"Yes, I'd love to play for India again," he told the paper.
The 35-year-old fast bowler, who retired from international cricket at the end of the 2003 World Cup in South Africa, said he desires to don the India flannels again.
"It was an eye-opener for me. It was exciting. When you are seen as the strike bowler and the entire team looks up for results, self-belief comes back."
"In fact, that made me think of playing for the country for the next 10 years. It made me think of a long-term career. I'd love to be part of the team," Srinath added.
Srinath had picked up 236 victims in Tests and 315 in One-dayers.
