Mott named Australia Under-19 assistant coach

Brisbane:Former Victorian and Queensland batsman Matthew Mott has been named assistant coach of Australia's Under-19 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup squad.

The 31-year-old Mott, who is currently serving as assistant coach of the SpeedBlitz Blues, will continue in this role and work alongside Under-19 head coach Brian McFadyen to help prepare the squad for the 2006 World Cup.

He has appeared in 66 first-class matches, amassing 3723 runs at an average of 33.84, before moving over to New South Wales in 2004 to take up his current role as assistant coach with SpeedBlitz Blues.
