Ganga to lead Windies ~~A~~ on Lanka tour

Bridgetown:Test discard Daren Ganga will lead a 15-member West Indies 'A' squad for the forthcoming Sri Lanka tour beginning later this month.

The 26-year-old Trinidad&Tobago captain, who has figured in 31 Tests for West Indies, was also the captain on the last Windies 'A' tour to England in 2002.

Three players-Tino Best, Narsingh Deonarine and Dwayne Smith who figured in recent home series against South Africa and Pakistan, have all been named in the tour party.

Promising all-rounder Marlon Samuels, who has been out in the wilderness for quite some time now, earned a call-up on the strength of his consistent showing in the Windies domestic circuit.

West Indies 'A' Squad:Daren Ganga (capt), Narsingh Deonarine (vice-capt), Ryan Ramdass, Xavier Marshall, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Smith, Runako Morton, Dave Bernard jnr, Carlton Baugh (wk), Dave Mohammed, Nikita Miller, Dwight Washington, Tino Best, Jermaine Lawson, Kerry Jeremy.
