Shashi Singh, 2 other Pataudi accomplices surrender

Jhajjar:A day after former captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was granted bail in the blackbuck hunting case, three other co-accused today surrendered and were remanded to one day police custody by a court in Jhajjar.

Shashi Singh, whose anticipatory bail petition along with Pataudi was rejected by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on June 17, surrendered before the Jhajjar police.

Other co-accused Balwan Singh and Mohammad Ayub Khan, presented themselves before chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Sudhir Jiwan.

They were all remanded to police custody for a day by the CJM, who had granted bail to Pataudi yesterday after two days of police remand.

Madan Singh, who was arrested by the Jhajjar police, has already been granted bail.

Pataudi and seven others have been booked by the Jhajjar police under various sections of the Wildlife Act for hunting the black buck, an endangered species. If found guilty they face a jail term of up to seven years and a fine of Rs 25,000.

Others whose names figure in the FIR registered on June 5 are Dayal Singh, Shaheed Ahmad, Karam Singh and Daya Suddin.
