Adelaide:Former Australian Test wicket-keeper and English academy head coach Rod Marsh was appointed to a coaching role with the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA).

The SACA said Marsh would work with elite and junior state squads with a view to producing the next generation of South Australian and Australian cricketers.

Marsh recently completed a four-year term as director of the England and Wales Cricket Board National Academy and was previously head of the Australian Cricket Academy when it was based in Adelaide.

The SACA said Marsh would review the structure of cricket in South Australia, with the aim of assessing development programs and building strength in the junior ranks. He is expected to take up his new role in November.
