Bangalore:Twenty20 cricket, the shortest version of the game that has made some headway in parts of the Cricket-playing nations, especially in England and Australia, is all excitement and action that a band of international cricketers find quite irresistible.

"Twenty20 is good excitement and good to play. It's a good variety and one has to keep adjusting one's game", says Sri Lankan cricketer Russel Arnold. "It's getting popular. Butit's difficult to say whether it would eclipse One-day Cricket. Only time will tell", he told PTI here.

Arnold and some cricketers from the island nation, Pakistan and England have arrived here for the three-day Unibic Twenty20 Cricket championship for Bradman Cup here thatCommence on tomorrow.

"It's getting popular even in Pakistan. It's catching up", Said Pakistan's Mohammed Sami

According to Adam Hollioake of England, while a county game attracted 1,000 people normally back home in England, a full-house' turns up for Twenty20 game. "It's very popular". He thinks the short version of the game might overtake One-day matches in the years to come. "But it's hard to say. I suppose only time will tell", he hastened to add.

Hollioake said 20/20 cricket might be popular with different types of crowd (younger), might be with people with short attention span. He said this type of Cricket is high on entertainment and excitement and it's more like soccer and rugby.

For Pakistan's Shoaib Malik, it's good from the point of view of the crowd and the players. "It makes sense", he remarked. Cricket isn't an Olympic sport because it takes too much time.

India's One-day wicket-keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said Twenty20 can be successful; it might not be successful also as international calendar these days is hectic with test matches and One-day game packed, and players may not get time to play in this type of game. "It (Twenty20) is really exciting mainly for spectators and batsmen", he said.
