"I have been told that BCCI has agreed to play test and ODI in Karachi and now they (BCCI) were just waiting for the Indian government to give them the go-ahead," Shaharyar told media here at the National Stadium.
The PCB has proposed test and ODI at Karachi in India's next year's tour of Pakistan. According to the proposal, India will open the tour with a test in Karachi and will return to the port city to play the third One-dayer of the five-match series.
"It is a very encouraging news for everyone because if India plays a test in Karachi, it would restore the city's image and Karachi will again become hub of international cricketing matches," Shaharyar said.
The former diplomat said he has instructed Director Cricket Operations Saleem Altaf, presently in Dubai attending ICC meetings, to finalise the Indian cricket team's tour of Pakistan in consultation with BCCI secretary S K Nair.
"I have asked Saleem Altaf to finalise all discussions with S K Nair so that we can start our preparations," he said.
The PCB chairman further revealed that President General Pervez Musharraf, who is also the Patron of the PCB, has instructed Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq not to tolerate any indiscipline in the team.
"The President has candidly told Inzamam not to tolerate indiscipline and instructed him that even if Shoaib Akhtar breaches code of conduct, he should immediately tell the paceman to pack his bags and go home," he said.
