Trinidad:West Indies Fast bowler Jermaine Lawson's suspect bowling action has been cleared by specialists at the International Cricket Council (ICC). According to a report, Lawson was given the green light to return to international cricket after extensive tests to verify whether his bowling action was illegal.

"That is the formal position. They have found that his deliveries on average, are within the 15 degrees," said WICB territorial development officer for Jamaica Phillip Service.

"He has passed the test. However, we need to be continually aware that this is the second time he has been reported so he needs to maintain his fitness on one hand and also be reminded of the various things we worked on during his remediation," Service added.

Lawson, who was reported for throwing twice in 2003 and after the first Test in Sri Lanka recently, has been added to the Jamaica squad preparing for the regional One-day competition.

"He is free to continue his career as I understand it," Service explained.

Since making his Test debut in the 2002/03 season against Australia, Lawson has played in 12 Tests, picking up 50 wickets at 27.84. He is one of only four West Indians to take a hat-trick in Test cricket.
