Local club insists on neutral person as BCCI head

Chennai:The Netaj Cricket Club had moved the High Court to appoint a neutral person to condut the elections and to decide the eligbility of the voters and contestants.

Yesterday, the judge had restrained the BCCI from proceeding with the election till 1230 PM today (Sep 22, 2005). HC dismisses applicatin by local club.

The Madras High Court today dismissed an application by a local club, seeking appointment of an observer at the Cricket Board Election scheduled for today at Kolkota, thereby clearing the uncertanity over whether the election would be held. Dismissing the application, Justice M Thanikachalam said, He would pronounce the detailed order later this afternoon.
