Mumbai:Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar would not be attending the much-hyped review committee meeting of the BCCI, scheduled here later today, as he has to rush to Pune to attend to his indisposed father.

"Gavaskar's father Manohar has fallen ill and has been admitted to a Pune hospital. Among other things, the senior Gavaskar has high blood pressure and was put in ICU. He is out of the ICU now," a source very close to the cricket legend said.

"He (Gavaskar) is now proceeding to Pune as he has to leave for Australia later tonight for the ICC Super Series," the source added.

The review committee is scheduled to discuss the Indian team's performance on the recent tours to Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, apart from the much publicised spat between India captain Saurav Ganguly and coach Greg Chappell and the latter's "leaked" confindential e-mail to the board president, in which he has levelled serious charges against Ganguly.

The review committee comprises Board president Ranbir Singh Mahendra (chairman), former BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya, Nair, Gavaskar and two former Indian cricketers Ravi Shashtri and Srinivas Venkatraghavan.
