New Delhi:The Supreme Court today fixed October 3 for hearing a petition filed by the cricket associations of Rajasthan and Bihar and the Netaji Cricket Club of Tamil Nadu, challenging the Calcutta High Court order which stayed the appointment of two former Chief Justices as observers for the elections to BCCI.
A Bench, comprising Chief Justice R C Lahoti, Justic G P Mathur and Justice P K Balasubramaniam, declined to give the petitioners an early hearing as sought by them.
"It is only a fight of ego," the Bench observed. The petitioners had sought a directive for holding the elections, which has run into a controversy, before September 30.
