Mumbai:Sachin Tendulkar would return to competitive cricket soon after he got the green signal from Indian team's physiotherapist John Gloster to play in the October 10 to 13 N K P Salve Challenger Series in Mohali.

"Tendulkar is playing in the Challenger Series. I also spoke to John Gloster who has said he can play," said national senior selection committee chairman Kiran More from Vadodara.

The three teams to take part in the domestic limited overs tournament, India Senior, India 'A' and India 'B', are to be chosen tomorrow at Delhi.

Tendulkar has not played in a competitive game since undergoing surgery for his elbow injury in London at the end of May.

He was forced to skip India's tours of Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, besides the upcoming Johnnie Walker Super Series between Australia and the Rest of the World Down Under. Tendulkar was to feature in both the Test and One-day teams in the mega series against Australia.
