Tendulkar has light practice session at Wankhede

Mumbai:Sachin Tendulkar made an appearance at the Wankhede Stadium in south Mumbai today for some light practice after having confined his sessions so far to the MIG club near his residence in suburban Bandra.

Tendulkar made his appearance at the venue where he made his first class debut more than a decade and a half ago and practised with some other Mumbai Ranji Trophy probables gearing up for the coming domestic season.

The champion batsman, eager to find out how his elbow feels post-surgery in competitive match play during the October 10-13 N K P Challenger Series in Mohali, batted for about twenty minutes against bowlers who did not go flat out.

He also took part in fielding drills and was seen conversing with new Mumbai coach Karsan Ghavri and other Mumbai Cricket Association officials, but did not talk to the media persons.

Tendulkar underwent surgery for his tennis elbow problem in May-end. He missed India's tours to Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe while recuperating from his surgery and is hoping to get fit for the seven-match ODI home series against Sri Lanka commencing later this month.
