Bar girl, 2 bookies remanded to JC till Oct 24

Mumbai:Bar girl Tarannum Khan and two alleged bookies, held on the charges of indulging in betting, were today further remanded to judicial custody till October 24 by a local court.

Seeking their further custody, prosecutor said the case had international ramifications and the custody of the accused was required to probe their links with alleged offenders.

Besides Tarannum, the other accused are Pradip Parmar and Milind Dhiraj Nandu.

The trio was not produced before the court today and the police were directed to ensure their presence on the next occasion.

Earlier, the court had rejected the bail plea of Tarannum Khan and alleged bookies on the ground that investigations were still on and their release at this juncture would hamperthe probe.

The three were arrested on September 16 for their alleged involvement in cricket betting racket.

They were booked under Gambling Act, Indian Telegraph Act and Information Technology Act, apart from certain sections of IPC.
