Port of Spain:The West Indies cricket team must "dream big" and build itself into a strong unit in order to stake a claim for the World Cup which the country would host in 2007, newly-elected President of Cricket Board Ken Gordon has said.

"West Indians have to dream big to develop a team that will win the 2007 World Cup," said the Trinidadian business magnate during the 49th Annual Cricket Prize Distribution of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board.

Gordon said for that to be achieved the Cricket board also needed to act positively."We have to build a team and in doing so you must act positively, deliberately and thoughtfully.

"And as we go about our business, let us keep focus on a truly united horizon with our passion and vitality directed to nation building," he said.

Meanwhile, a delegation from the Australian Institute of Sports has complimented the management of the gentleman's game in the tiny island.

"Cricket in Trinidad and Tobago is well resourced and probably the best organised of all sports," said the delegation which is on an official visit to this oil-rich republic.

The AIS officials would assist the government in the establishment of the Trinidad and Tobago Sports Company (TTSC).
