Victoria go top of Australia~~s Sheffield Shield

Perth:Victoria went to the top of the Australian Sheffield Shield cricket standings with an outright victory over Western Australia on the final day of their match at the WACA here.

Victoria resumed the fourth and final day at 86 for four chasing 184 runs for six maximum points and they reached the target with four wickets to spare on Friday.

Skipper and new One-day international Cameron White (48 not out) and Jon Moss (25 not out) steered the Victorians to victory.

Moss completed a superb four days' cricket and claimed man-of-the-match honours after taking eight match wickets and scoring 58 in the first innings.

Western Australia 142 (M. North 43; J. Moss 4-35, S. Harwood 3-39) and 312 (M. Hussey 86, S. Marsh 69 not out, C. Rogers 66; J. Moss 4-92) lost to Victoria 271 (D. Hussey 63, J.Moss 58; M. Inness 3-40, B. Dorey 3-56, B. Williams 3-94) and 184 for 6 (C. White 48 not out, N. Jewell 41; B. Dorey 3-63) by 4 wickets.
