Rajkot:Having confirming his return to form with a brilliant hundred in a Duleep Trophy tie, Sourav Ganguly today preferred to keep silent on his performance while hailing winning efforts of his East Zone team against North Zone.

"I don't want to talk about my own performance. I am part of a winning team and I feel happy that my century came handy for the team to win the match," Ganguly said on his return to the city after playing the Duleep Trophy match in Rajkot.

Ganguly had cracked 117 runs in East Zone's first innings and captured four wickets for 56 in the match.

Hailing his East Zone colleagues, seamer Shiv Sankar Paul and wicket-keeper batsman Deep Dasgupta, the left-hander said "I am sure the boys are looking forward to play the final. This team is capable of winning the trophy."

He also preferred to remain silent on possiblities of his return to the Indian squad, or his fitness issue. "I have not said anything about this in Rajkot. I am not going to comment on the same here too.

Asked if this innings under pressure situation was one of his best in domestic cricket, Ganguly said "I can only say any achievement is satisfying.

But what I am really happy about is that East Zone defeated North after a long time." Ganguly reserved his comment about the green top wicket at Rajkot but reiterated his satisfaction over the performance of his boys.

"I felt pround to lead such a good side." Besides Paul, who scalped seven wickets in the match, Ganguly also had words of praise for Ranadeb Bose and V Sarvanan of the East Zone as also V R V Singh of the North who put up an all round performance in the match.

"The East Zone boys have the merit to play the final. If they can make it, they will have more opportunity to display their talent to the selectors to be considered for a national berth," he said.
