The home team, required to get 181 for an outright win, were struggling at overnight score of 60 for four. The undefeated pair of Salabh Srivastava (20) and Chandrasekhar Atram (5) departed soon after resumption of the match with Vidarbha, reeling at 84 for six at that stage.
The visitors' first innings successful pace duo Ashok Thakur (3 for 74) and Vikram Malik (4 for 55), once again excelled with the ball, slicing through the home team innings.
Vikrant Gonnade (35) and Harshal Shitoot (13) resisted briefly with a 7th wicket partnership of 47 to provide the home team a glimmer of hope.
However, with left arm spinner Bhatia getting rid of Vikrant Gonnade, the end looked inevitable.
Vidarbha skipper Preetam Gandhe (25) threatened a brief revival but finally fell to Malik as the visitors gained maximum four points from their opening encounter.
Vidarbha failed to secure a single point from the match and will play Goa in their second encounter, commencing on December 1, here.
