''There is a selection committee and it will definitely apply its mind for Ganguly and others,'' Pawar said when asked if he considered the left hander's international cricketing carrier to be almost over.
While hailing Ganguly as ''one of the best all-rounders the country has produced,'' the Union Agriculture minister said he was aware of the contribution of Bengal in Indiancricket.
''Our total approach should be to be fair to all states and associations. Our approach should be to protect the interests of all the states,'' he said.
Pawar also dismissed any possibility of interference into the cricketing affairs by him or the board administration.
