Rain continues to play it's role as TN scores 80

Chennai:Rain again played spoilsport as Tamil Nadu made 80 for no wicket in their first innings against Karnataka at close on the truncated second day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' match here today.

Play began at 1400 hrs today as the outfield was wet due to overnight and early morning rains and the hosts, resuming at the overnight 20 for no loss, made sure that they did not lose any wickets.

Openers S Vidyut (38 batting, 6x4), and C Hemant Kumar (26, 4x4) played carefully in the 16.3 overs possible on the second day.

Play was stopped around 1615 hrs due to bad light before the umpires called it off at 1645 hrs.

Inclement weather allowed only 32 minutes of play yesterday.

Brief scores: Tamil Nadu Ist inngs 80 for no loss (S Vidyut 38 batting, C Hemant Kumar 26 batting) versus Karnataka.
