Karnataka takes on Bengal in Ranji tie tomorrow

Mysore:Former champions Karnataka will play their crucial fixture against a formidable Bengal in the fourth round of the Elite "A" Ranji Trophy cricket match commencing here from tomorrow.

The hosts struggling with just three points from as many outings and their unimpressive performance against Mumbai will now have an uphill task against Bengal, which has seven points in their kitty.

Sujit Somasundar led Karnataka's advance into the next stage would depend on its performance during the four days against the strong Bengal team, which has been doingconsistently in this Ranji season.

Under the given situation, Karnataka has to eye an outright win to be in the reckoning, a task which is not so easy against Bengal.

The city is playing host to a Ranji trophy match after a gap of seventeen years.
