Baroda beats Punjab by four wickets in Ranji

Vadodara:Baroda scored four wickets victory over Punjab and secured four points for keeping hopes alive for entering the knock out stage of the Ranji Trophy Elite group.

Resuming at 73 runs for loss of four wickets yesterday morning, Baroda lost two more wickets, both of overnight batsmen Rakesh Solanki and Himanshu Jadhav, before winning the crucial match.

Chairman of the national selection committee Kiran More was present for the final day's play.

Manager of the Baroda team Vasudev Patel said that he is happy with the performance of the team as it would help it in entering knock out stage of the tournament.

"This will be first time after a gap of two years that Baroda hopes to enter knock out stage as the team is on the top of the league table in the group at present," Patel said.

Baroda's remaining two matches are against Services in Delhi from January 3 and Hyderabad from Jan 10 here.
