The BCCI planned to spend a part of its earnings from sponsorships of the cricket matches for the promotion of some non-cricketing sports, the Union Minister said at a function.
"The BCCI would fully fund the training cost of any sportsperson, who is the best under-14 talent in the country and plays a sport that is competed in the Olympic Games," Pawar said, adding the apex cricket body would allot Rs five crore to all the cricket associations affiliated to it for preparing grounds at district levels.
Observers would be appointed to ensure that the funds allotted to the cricket associations were properly utilised, the BCCI President said.
