Baroda beats Saurashtra; secures five points

Vadodara:Baroda defeated Saurashtra and earned five points, including a bonus point, in the Ramakant Desai one-day cricket tournament at Motibaug ground yesterday.

Chasing the victory target of 170 runs, Baroda openers Connar williams (68) and R Parab (38) put up 97 runs for the first wicket to lay a solid foundation for the hosts for an easy victory.

Baroda reached the victory target by losing only four wickets and 12.4 overs to spare, which helped them in securing a bonus point.

For Saurashtra, Kamlesh Makwana took 3 wickets by conceding 32 runs.

Earlier, Baroda pacer Irfan Pathan (Sr) had demolished the hopes of the Ranji Trophy Plate Division champion of a decent total by taking 4 wickets giving away only 21 runs.
