Ahmedabad:In an effort to steer clear of any controversies over selections of the players for national Test and ODI squads, BCCI has sought advice from former Test captains in regard to improvement in the selection process.

Board of Control for Cricket in India President Sharad Pawar said the former captains will give their valuable suggestions within a week's time, which will be discussed by the Board members with senior members of Team India and management to bring accountability in the selection process.

Talking to the reporters after an inaugural function of the Gujarat Cricket Association's (GCA) new office premises here today, Mr Pawar said once the discussion on new selection procedure was over, its outcome would be put before the Board to take the final decision.

He said the Board has appointed a high-power committee to evolve a mechanism to instil accountability at every stage of functioning of the Board.

To a query on the appointment of a CEO for the BCCI, he said that Tata Consultancy Limited has been entrusted with the job to appoint the managers for various aspects of the game.

These managers would be mainly looking after the players' needs, infrastructure facilities, grounds, equipment and training and they will be reporting to the Board, Mr Pawar elaborated.
