Mohali:Rich with the experience he gained in Pakistan, left-arm pacer Rudra Pratap Singh says consistency will be the word for him while rookie Munaf Patel vowed to give his best if selected in the playing XI in the second Test against England.

Addressing a press conference together, a rather shy Munaf Patel looked desperate to cling on to whatever opportunity he gets.

''I am happy to be included in the team and if I get a chance I will try my best to perform,'' said the pacer who was show-horned into the side after taking 10 wickets in for Board President's XI in the warm-up match against England.

Munaf, who was trained at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai under Dennis Lillee and TA Sekhar said, ''I have learnt a lot in the nets.'' RP Singh, on the other hand, believes the experience of the Pakistan tour has made him a better bowler.

''On the Pakistan tour, I gained confidence and now I want to maintain consistency. I have learnt a lot while bowling in Pakistan.

I am happy to be in the Indian team and determined to give best performance,'' he said.
