London:England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has agreed to host India and Pakistan for a two-match ODI series next year and has also announced that the two arch-rivals will then go on to play three more games at other European venues.

''We've had some discussions. It's more likely it will be considered in 2007,'' English cricket chief David Collier told BBC Sport here.

''We've got a number of broadcasting issues we need to look at but clearly an India-Pakistan One-day series has some great attractions,'' said Collier.

Earlier, BCCI vice President Lalit Modi had said that Lord's was open to hosting a match if the ECB approved.

Mr Collier announced that ECB will bid for the Twenty20 World Cup in 2009.

''I think the most likely is 2009 at the moment,'' he said.

''I think the ICC are looking to us for our experience in that type of format and it would be wonderful if we get a major global cricket event in the UK,'' he added.
