Mohali:With a view not to disturb the winning combination that beat England in the second Test here, the Senior Selection Committee, headed by Kiran More, today retained the same 15-member team for the third Test will be played in Mumbai from March 18.

BCCI joint secretary and secretary of the Punjab Cricket Association M P Pandove said, ''The selection committee met today and decided to retain the same winning combination after discussing it from all angles.''

Regarding going in a match with five bowlers, Kiran More said ''It gives better option to the team management, especially the captain of the team. However, it will not be the same criteria for all Tests. All will depend upon the pitch and the playing conditions.''

Asked if inclusion of spinner Piyush Chawla for the Mohali Test was too early, Kiran More said ''Chawla has 40 wickets to his credit in domestic cricket this season. He has not bowled badly in Mohali. His bowling was impressive.''

Replying to another question whether Chawla was under-bowled, More said ''Play on the first two days was curtailed due to bad light and rain. If match would have been played for full five days, Chawla would have been asked to bowl more overs. (Besides) Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble bowled very well to rattle the England batsmen.''

Praising debutant Munaf Patel, More said ''Bowling his in-swingers and yorkers at this speed, 85 miles per hour, proves that Patel has shown great improvement.'' Munaf bowled 38 overs, 10 of which were maiden and conceded just 97 runs and took seven wickets in the Test match.

With the Nagpur Test drawn, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series against England.

Team: Wasim Jaffer, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid (captiain), Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Mohd Kaif, MS Dhoni (wicketkeeper), Irfan Pathan, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, S Sreesanth, Yuvraj Singh, Rudra Pratap Singh, Piyush Chawla and Munaf Patel.
