Pakistan elect to field in first Lanka Test

Colombo:Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq won the toss and asked Sri Lanka to bat in the first Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground here.

The match could start only on the second day after the entire first day's play was rained off.

Sri Lanka have lost captain Marvan Atapattu and Chaminda Vaas to injuries and Mahela Jayawardene is leading the side.

Pakistan will miss middle-order batsman Mohammad Yousuf, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
