Lucknow lads lift Indo-Pak youth trophy

Lucknow:Lucknow Cricket Academy (LCA) today lifted the first ever Indo-Pak Youth Goodwill 'Deep Fire Trophy' beating Lahore's Youngster Cricket Club (YCC) 3-2.

In a nail-biting final played in district Unnao, LCA beat YCC by nine runs.

In the five match series, LCA won the first two encounters convincingly, while coming from behind, YCC registered two successive wins squaring the series 2-2.

Nadeem Jafar and Faizal Mahmood of YCC were declared as best batsman and best all rounder respectively of the tournament, while Shailender Singh Sengar of LCA was adjusted best bowler.

In the final match, LCA's Man of the Match Saurabh Dubey again showed his ability with bat and ball. First he scored 54 runs with the help of eight boundaries and a six and then claimed three YCC wickets conceding only 13 runs.

Batting first, LCA scored 202 for the loss of six wickets. The main scorers were Saurabh Dubey (54) Hyder Raza (65*). For YCC, Asim Khurshid claimed 3/41.

In reply YCC mustered 193 runs, 10 short of victory target.

Faizal Mahmood top scored with 60 and his second wicket partnership with Mohd Farooq yielded 75 runs.

Rakesh Joshi of LCA finished with a figure of 2/35.
