In an interview with CNN-IBN channel, Dravid was of the view that the public outcry over his predecessor's axing was blown out of proportion but he did not rule out a comeback for Ganguly.
'I mean as long as you are playing well in domestic cricket, you always have a place for you,'' he said.
On the controversy over Ganguly's stripping off captaincy and then eventual axing from the side, Dravid said it was because people in the country get passionate about cricket.
''We love our cricketers (in India) be it Dravid, Ganguly or (Anil) Kumble. We develop a personal relationship with them,'' he explained.
