This was revealed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while addressing the concluding ceremony of the Georgian Car Rally organised by the former students Association of the Chail Military School named as Georgian Society.
The Chief Minister said the state had most conducive climate to host international level sports events and one cricket stadium had already come up at Dharmshala where international trial and practice matches had already been held.
Mr Singh said that this small town had been a popular destination amongst the tourists from all over the world and was being visited round the year.
He said that the stadium would emerge instrumental in giving boost to sports in the area. He said that the hill station was conveniently accessible from the state capital and would be most suitable for hosting world standard cricket matches.
The Chief Minister said an expert committee would undertake the survey with the help of the Board for Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for setting-up an international level stadium.
