Mr Pawar told reporters after the meeting that the treasurer placed more information about the alleged siphoning of funds by Mr Dalmiya before the Working Committee here. The matter was discussed in its totality and the working committee decided to leave the matter to the discretion of the president, Mr Pawar added.
The board had also filed an FIR against the former president for the misappropriation of funds and following a Mumbai High Court order, which stayed the arrest of Mr Dalmiya along with three other former BCCI officials till April 10. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai police had interrogated Dalmiya and the others over six days in Mumbai and Kolkata.
The others who were interrogated by the EOW of Mumbai Crime Branch were former treasurers Jyoti Bajpai and Kishore Rungta and former secretary S K Nair.
Mr Pawar, however refused to comment on the case at the moment saying ''The matter is subjudice, so I cannot comment on that.'' The NCP chief, however, made it clear that Mr Dalmiya would be able to attend the BCCI meetings as the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal pending the Board's action.
