London:Former England pacer Dominic Cork is clearly not amused by the confusion over what actually forced opener Marcus Trescothick to abandon his India tour and return home midway and he blamed the cricket board for making a bungle of the case.

When Trescothick quit the England camp in India, the official version said he was leaving for personal reason, thus fuelling speculations of all kinds and it was only yesterday that the player broke his strange silence and announced he was hit by an injury bug.

Cork, however, is upset at the handling of the issue and demanded further clarifications from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) .

''Why's it taken two months for this to come out, if he's got a virus let's say it from the off,'' Cork told BBC Sport.

He also accused coach Duncan Fletcher and the board of keeping a veil of secret over the issue and thus provoking unnecessary speculations.

''I just think there's been so many mixed messages sent out and I don't blame Marcus Trescothick, I actually blame the ECB.'' ''One thing's coming from Duncan Fletcher and then something else is coming from the ECB - it needs to just be clarified exactly what was happening,'' the former player asserted.

''Let's just be open because everybody's going to be suspicious about what it is and everybody's going to question it,'' he added.
