Bangladesh choose to bat first in the opening ODI

Chittagong:Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar won the toss and elected to bat in the first of three One-Day Internationals against world champions Australia.

Australia swept the preceding Test series 2-0.

Australia: Ricky Ponting (capt), Simon Katich, Adam Gilchrist, Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey, Andrew Symonds, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken, Dan Cullen, Mitchell Johnson.

Bangladesh: Habibul Bashar (capt), Shahriar Nafees, Mohammad Ashraful, Rajin Saleh, Aftab Ahmed, Tushar Imran, Khaled Mashud, Mohammad Rafique, Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzaq, Syed Rasel.

Umpires: Ian Howell (RSA) and Mahbubur Rahman (BAN)

TV umpire: Nadir Shah (BAN)
