Lahore:Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq said South African Jonty Rhodes will spend just one week with the senior players as a fielding consultant prior to the England tour starting late June.

''If Rhodes does accept an invitation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take up fielding consultant's assignment he will spend one week with us and another with the under-19 players,'' Inzy said.

The PCB has asked Rhodes, known as one of the finest fielders of his times, to carry out a two-week assignment in Pakistan but a formal confirmation from Rhodes is still awaited.

Inzamam told The News that given the time constraint they would try to learn some new drills and areas of improvement from Rhodes and then work on it through hard practice.

Former Test captains Imran Khan and Javed Miandad have hit out the PCB for the move to hire Rhodes pointing out that two to three weeks was too little time for him to make any visible impact on the team.
