''Shoaib has been out for the team for some time and is now trying to regain full fitness. But such things take some time and a lot of effort,'' Inzamam told reporters.
Inzamam said the tearaway bowler was the best Pakistan had but he did not want to risk his fitness ahead of the long tour.
''The tour of England is also very important for us because a good performance there would boost our morale ahead of the World Cup,'' he said.
Meanwhile, in his column for a website, Shoaib had claimed that he was back to full fitness and was itching to get back in to the team. The pacer has also ruled out shortening his run-up or cutting his pace to protect himself from injuries.
