Lahore:Already facing a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) inquiry for a suspect action, Mohammad Hafeez's habit of courting controversies is likely to cost him a place in the 'A' squad for Australia after being reported for misconduct.

Quoting PCB Director Operations Saleem Altaf, The News reported that the Board's disciplinary committee has received the complaint from Faisalabad region's coach Waseem Haider.

The hearing on the complaint has finished and the board was now awaiting a report on the matter.

''I am expecting a report on it tomorrow,'' Mr Altaf said.

The bowler has been named in the 29-member preliminary squad for the tour of Australia but Hafeez might lose his place if the PCB decides to take action against him.

The 25-year-old made his Test debut in 2003 against Bangladesh and has played 30 One-day Internationals.

Hafeez was among the players who complained of team officials getting more then their share from EurAsia Cup prize money.
