Belfast:Ed Joyce made his England debut opening the batting in the historic One-day international against his native Ireland at Stormont, the BBC reported.

Joyce had a stomach upset on Monday but came through a pre-match check and lined up against his brother Dominick.

County team-mate Jamie Dalrymple and Lancashire all-rounder Glen Chapple were also included in England's XI.

But star batsman Kevin Pietersen was rested as skipper Andrew Strauss won the toss and opted to bat first.
