England win toss and field against Sri Lanka

London:England captain Andrew Strauss won the toss and elected to field in the first One-day International against Sri Lanka at Lord's here.

England made one change from the side that lost Thursday's Twenty20 match against Sri Lanka by two runs with Ian Bell replacing Ed Joyce after the Irish-born batsman sustained an ankle injury while fielding at the Rose Bowl.

Sri Lanka recalled senior bowlers Chaminda Vaas and Muttiah Muralitharan, in place of Ruchira Perera and Farveez Maharoof, after the duo were rested at the Rose Bowl.

This was the first of a five-match series.
