London:South Africa all-rounder Justin Kemp has been released early from his contract with English county Kent to ensure he is fresh for the One-day series in Sri Lanka in August and the Champions Trophy in India later in the year.

"I am really sorry to be leaving Kent earlier than expected," said Kemp, who is expected to be replaced by West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

Kent's chairman of cricket Graham Johnson made it clear he was far from happy with the situation.

"This does highlight how increasingly difficult it is for counties generally to plan their playing resources to deliver to supporters' expectations," he said.

"We reluctantly accept the South African board's overriding wish to ensure that Justin is properly prepared ahead of the forthcoming Sri Lanka tour and the 2007 World Cup and are very sorry to see him go."
