The players, with Trainer Gregory Allen King and Bio Mechanist Ian Frazer, left this morning to an undisclosed venue to sweat it out for the first three days of the week-long Fitness Camp. They would be involved in group training and leadership activities.
According to unconfirmed reports, the players left for the premises of a paramilitary organisation at Yelahanka, about 15 km from the city.
National Cricket Academy (NCA) sources said all the 15 players selected for the tri-series, with South Africa being the third country, have arrived in the city and left for the camp venue, which was barred for the media.
V V S Laxman is also attending the camp, while Robin Uthappa, a member of the successful India 'A' team touring England, would be joining the camp later in the day.
Stating that the players were briefed about the programme before their departure, King assured that the media would be briefed on July 29 about the schedule for the three days. After their return, the players would undergo indoor training in the morning and field training in the afternoon from July 29 to 31.
The players would re-assemble on August five for the 'Cricket Skill Camp' till their departure to Colombo on August 10. Coach Greg Chappell, who is away in the US, is expected to arrive here before the commencement of the second and final phase of the camp.
The players selected for the tri-series: Rahul Dravid (Captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (WK), Suresh Raina, Ajit Agarkar, Irfan Pathan, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Ramesh Powar, Dinesh Mongia and Rudra Pratap Singh.
